Key to Longevity

What is pH you ask?

If you’ve talked to anyone at Suede Hills Organic Farm you know that we’re very dedicated to telling absolutely everyone to check their pH.

Let’s look at it this way. When you put wood into a fire and you let it burn out you’re left with ash. The food you put in your body is the ‘wood’ and what’s left after your stomach acid digests it is the ‘ash’. Depending on what foods you eat your body is either acidic (below 7.0) or alkaline (7.35 or above).

Why is this important?

Being too far on either side of 7.4 is bad for your body, as causes sickness and disease.

The body works best when it is at the pH 7.4 or higher. Phil keeps his pH at around 8.0 while Cindy has a pH of 7.6 or so. So you like the idea of never getting sick and always having more than enough energy in a day? Here’s how you can get your pH up and keep it there. If you are acidic then your body is not working as it should be. For your body to function properly you need to get your body up to 7.4 and keep it there for at least three months. After the three months your body will have repaired everything that was not functioning properly and will no longer be working on your ‘back up’ of acid.

Ideally, to maintain your pH naturally a raw vegan diet is recommended with a diet made up of of 80% alkaline foods and 20% acidic foods. However, if you’re not willing to give up your milk, eggs, or meat in general there are several ways you can maintain your pH without giving up your ‘comfort food’. Many of our customers and friends do not want to change their diet and decide to take this route. Cutting out processed and boxed foods are a must. If you’re eating meat and other acidic foods you need to balance them out with fresh, alkaline foods such as fresh veggies and fruits. Packaged and frozen vegetables and fruits have often been cooked to death and then packaged with nasty chemicals to make them last longer.

Once you have cut out the over processed foods, you need to supplement the minerals that your body is lacking. The body cannot rid itself of acid unless it has minerals. Acid needs a mineral escort to leave the body, so if your body is lacking in minerals the acid can’t leave. You can get these minerals from eating a lot of vegetables and fruits along with your regular diet(if you’re not raw vegan) or you can take pH Happy Caps to boost your pH to where it should be. Many of our customers use the pH Happy Caps to boost their pH and then they maintain their 7.4 or more with their diet and our Alfalfa Powder which is full of minerals.

A balanced diet is comprised of 80% alkaline forming and 20% acid forming foods

*NOTE: For people who are endeavoring to re-alkalize their body, we suggest a 90%-100% diet of alkaline forming foods.

  • Foods that taste acidic generally leave an alkaline residue at the end of the digestive process.
  • Foods such as meats, dairy, and sugar do not have an acidic taste, but they deposit the most acid at the end of the digestive process.

It is the job of alkaline minerals to neutralize these acid residues for the cells to remain healthy. The cells and the fluid that surround the cells, must be of an alkaline pH in order for the antioxidants to be effective against free radicals.
