March 2014 - Protein Myth

I was reminded of a simple way to stay alkaline.

So much of what we do each day is "habit"...Phil and I have arranged the majority of the habits of our lives into that which help create an alkaline (healthful) environment in our bodies.

One of the things we do is spend our "time off or vacation time" at Hot Mineral Springs. The reason we do this is that the minerals penetrate your skin and empower your body to heal itself.

So, the next chance you get, go soak in a real hot mineral spring...JUST DO IT!!

Remember that cancer and all other sickness and disease can NOT live in an alkaline environment.


Not all proteins are created equal! From our research, and in our opinion, most proteins that are available in your health food stores are repackaged and cleverly marketed by-products of big industry. Do a little research and the evidence is clear.

Did you know that even an apple has protein? Most whole food does. Plus there has never been a case of protein deficiency in anyone that has some kind of food to eat. It is only in the people of the world that truly have absolutely NO FOOD to eat that have experienced a protein deficiency!

When we talk protein we are actually talking about amino acids. As usual, we want the protein to be as close to the way nature intended it, and we want it to be alkaline- forming instead of acid-forming.

Animal protein always leaves an acid residue for your body to deal with. Many plant based proteins do the same thing. But, when you get your protein from the leaves of a green plant( like mature alfalfa leaves) it actually alkalizes you at the same time!

I was refreshing my memory the other day about some of the other "proteins" marketed today. I was "re-ticked-off" as I found document after document, stating the dangerous results of using these supposed healthy proteins.

There seems to be a never ending list of the latest and greatest proteins. I will just give a snippet of the info I found regarding the two most prominent ones on the store shelves.


  • First off it is acid-forming in your body.
  • More than 90% of the soy produced are genetically modified.
  • Organically grown soy naturally contain "antinutrients" such as Phytates (which are reported to reduce assimilation of calcium, magnesium, copper, iron and zinc). Trypsin inhibitors are also present which interfere with protein digestion. There are also Goitrogens which have been linked to cause thyroid issues. Plus there are Saponins, Soyatoxins and Phytoestrogens, just to name a few.

Thousands of studies link soy to malnutrition, digestive distress, immune system breakdown, thyroid dysfunction, cognitive decline, reproductive disorders and infertility--even cancer and heart disease according to Dr. Mercola.

Then there is the chemical herbicide Glyphosate which is sprayed on the crop. Apparently a French research team have found it to be carcinogenic.

Please keep in mind that soy was one of the first plants to be GMO'd. It was "re-designed" to make pigs fat faster!! That is the last thing I need to ingest in my body!!! How about you?


  • Once again whey leaves an acid residue for your body to clean up.
  • Is the direct by-product of the cheese industry. It is composed of bovine blood protein, serum albumen, lactalbumen, dead white blood cells(PUS) and hormonal residues including estrogen, progesterone and IGF1 (insulin growth factor 1). If you study that last one alone you will never go near any dairy or cheese again!
