October 2013 - Live and Learn How to be Healthier

Welcome Friends,

It is such a joy to share with you each month. Thank you for taking the time to live and learn how to be healthier, even just one baby step at a time!
We enjoyed a fabulous Back to the Basics Workshop last month. Some awesome folks drove 6 hours in their RV to be with us! Now that is commitment to getting healthy, the natural way! (It reminds me of sleeping overnight in a lineup to get rock concert tickets!!) We hope to see you at one of our live events!

Easy ways to get "green" into kids from 4-104 years old!

We hear this all the time,

"I want to get alkaline in order to get well, but I don't like the taste of green stuff! Can you help me?"

The answer is a resounding YES!!

As most of you may be aware, Phil and I thrive on our "Phil's Ultimate Breakfast with a Schmunkie". To us this is the best meal of the day. It looks green, but tastes like sweet fruit.

We have also come up with a few ways to make your healthy breakfast even more convenient and "easier to swallow!"

These ideas seem to be working for old and young alike:

A) Try adding our Suede Hills Alfalfa powder to a 1/2 cup of unsweetened applesauce. This works great because the applesauce already has some texture to it, and since it is only a 1/2 cup most folks seem to be able to swallow it, knowing the benefits they are reaping.

B) Another option is to use our Alfalfa capsules, either the regular size or the tiny "petite" size.

C) The most popular choice with our three youngest grandchildren is the; "Mini Morning Motivator". The purpose here was to get our Suede Hills Alfalfa & Olive leaf powder into the grandchildren everyday before school. Here is the basic recipe, though I always play with it depending on the fruit available at the time. I make this recipe in a mini blender.

Mini Morning Motivator

  • mini motivatorStart by adding 1/2 cup of water to the mini blender
  • Next add 1/2 cup fresh pineapple chunks
  • Add a fresh orange, peeled and cut in 8ths
  • Add a handful of grapes, it really sweetens
  • Sometimes I add 1/2 a banana
  • I blend the fruits together
  • Add 1 tablespoon of Suede Hills Alfalfa Powder
  • Add 1 Tablespoon Suede Hills Olive Leaf Powder
  • Then a good fat of your choosing, i.e. 1 Tablespoon of Hemp Seed, or Pumpkin Seed etc.
  • Blend until thoroughly mixed.
  • Pour into 3 little bowls
  • Top with sliced grapes.

P.S This serves a half cup of green goodness to each of the 3 children, the entire mini blender full would also be the right quanity for 1 adult. If a 4, 5, and 8 year old can do this so can you!!!
